You have so much fire and energy in the way you Be and sing! and what you do, it is of the heart, so it will enliven and bring to life the hearts of those that hear it! Oh joy, oh heart of flames, dancing in the light, transparent, glowing translucent and transcendent, leading on.

What would it be like to live with more life racing through one’s heart and being? to be more alive? A sense of peace. Wake up the life of that heart! Bring the essence of life into your heart, and live! Beyond the breath of life into pulsing racing ecstatic embrace of You! Ma, Infinite Being, Oneness, all that is.

I have had the pleasure of being a member of Samavayah for many kirtans. And I’ve had the pleasure of Amy singing in my band. Amy is one of the dearest, most intelligent, gifted and lovely persons I have known. She gives such a high quality of listening and offers selfless, honest feedback that is always full of love. She gathers great people, leads gently, clearly, joyfully. And just as well, she follows gently, clearly, joyfully. She sings with great passion and can improvise wonderfully. It is a delight to experience her music. She laughs and dances with complete freedom. Her home, how she dresses, her treatment of others, her life are all great works of art that express courage, sensitivity and heart. She is an extraordinary woman and I love her without reservation like the best soul sister she is.

Dear Amy –

I have taken your class several times at Sanctuary and have come to two of your kirtans.  I am moving back home to NYC in a week, and will unfortunately miss the upcoming kirtan.  I just wanted you to know I think you are one of the most lovely and fantastic teachers out there. Your classes are absolutely uplifting and renewing and every other superlative that one associates with the best teaching!  It is clear that your students love you and that you love what you do.

I just wanted to send you a quick note of appreciation for this afternoon’s amazing experience.  You must know what incredible gifts and talents you possess, truly. And to share them as openly as you do is really a blessing for all who are there to participate. I was especially intrigued by the meditation you introduced … disrupting the ruts of our minds and body. I had a recent experience of energy work and was told all my energy stays in my head-that I have created ‘ruts’ of mind activity. Must be a word for me to pay attention to.

I am impressed with your CD. I think the musicianship is of high caliber. I love your voice. I think it comes across extremely well. It is strong, beautiful, sweet… all of it. And I do not think I am prejudiced about it, although maybe I am. I am amazed at how well the CD sounds, being recorded all, in only ONE day. The rhythm section rocks, and I love the harmonies of the kirtan posse and the others. But most of all, I really can not stop singing to it. Its’ intent and longing of devotion to the divine absolutely comes through, strong.

Before I met Amy I was an unlikely kirtan devotee, but her amazing voice and sweet, nurturing spirit touched my soul in a way no other artist has. Her beautiful kirtan devotionals have come to be a necessity in my life and her spiritual guidance through kirtan and yoga has greatly influenced my path in this world.  I truly believe kirtan, the devotional beauty of the melodic word, not only touches those of us who participate, but touches the world as a whole as our positive energy ripples through one another, even after we leave the sacred space.

I’ve known Amy for many years as a student and as a close friend. Over this period of time I’ve listened with wonder and joy as she has found her unique, personal voice in the world of Kirtan music. Amy is a beautiful, heart-full singer who possesses an aching, yearning and quite sensual devotional style. With her steel guitar and sultry voice she brings the country into the East and the East into the country.
